The Bavarian company A. Reiter, a family-owned enterprise trading in natural beech firewood, wood briquettes and pellets, has been a partner of ProCredit Bank for many years.
The wood for these combustible materials is sourced exclusively from sustainable forestry, i.e. from forests that are cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner. When selecting and distributing its products, the company relies on long-standing regional partners as well as direct supply and distribution channels.
As part of our ‘Let's Connect’ initiative, Josef Reiter, founder of the family-owned company, accompanied us to Sarajevo. The B2B summit brought together 300 medium-sized companies and clients of the ProCredit group, thereby providing an opportunity for networking in the region.
ProCredit has supported A. Reiter for many years, particularly in its cash management, but also with investments in Germany and in South Eastern and Eastern Europe.
Mr Reiter, you are a client of the ProCredit banks in Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine. Why are the markets in South Eastern and Eastern Europe relevant for your company?
Many of our long-standing partners and suppliers are based in South Eastern and Eastern Europe. We see great potential in these regions and have continuously expanded our local operations over the past few years.
What is important to you in a bank for doing business in the region?
Secure and fast payment transactions, regional contact persons and an in-depth understanding of the people and needs in the regions, as well as experience in the local business and banking sectors.
What advantages do you see in working with ProCredit?
Its international orientation as well as the solution-oriented and unbureaucratic communication with our contacts at ProCredit. We particularly value the knowledge and understanding of the many countries and regions of Eastern Europe and their cultures, the country-specific conditions, and the general organisation of the business world and local cooperation.

Five years ago, we started our journey towards climate neutrality. A milestone has now been reached along the way – in a country that was not previously known for this type of activity.
